Academic Background

I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at New College, Oxford.

Research Interests

My doctoral thesis is entitled ‘Athenian Power in the Fifth Century BC’. It argues that fifth-century BC Athenian power (commonly referred to as the Athenian Empire) was composed of multi-directional and heterogenous interactions between the Athenians and subject communities, including negotiation processes. More broadly, my research interests include Greek political and economic history, and the study of Greek inscriptions and coins.
