The Coronavirus - Important message

The College’s first priority remains protecting the health and safety of all members of the Christ Church community and at this stage of the pandemic that means reducing wherever possible the number of visitors to our various sites.

It is for this reason that Christ Church is now closed to tourists until further notice. Details about when and how we will reopen to tourists will be published as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Booking Alterations

If you need to increase or reduce the numbers in your group you must tell us in writing (by email) at least 7 days before the date of your visit. We will amend your booking accordingly, provided places are still available and do not exceed the total capacity permitted. Should a group’s numbers fall below the requirement of 10 people this will result in you losing your group booking. Any changes outside of this period will be charged at 50% of the number cancelled.

If you wish to cancel your reservation, this must be done in writing (by email) 7 days before the date of your visit. Failure to comply with this notice period will result in a cancellation fee of the 50% of your group booking and the full amount if less than 24 hours’ notice.

Your group will not be reimbursed if fewer people come on the day than you have booked, if you are delayed and miss your entry time, or your group does not come at all.

Late arrivals – please ensure your travel arrangements to Christ Church allow you to arrive in good time for your visit. If you are running late, please let us know by email so we can see if we are able to adjust your entry time. This may not always be possible and you remain liable for the cost if you miss your entry time.

Groups Visiting with Children (under 18s)

Children (under 18s) must be accompanied by an adult at all times during their visit. The supervising adult is responsible for the safety and conduct of the group.

There must be the following adult supervision for groups bringing children aged 17 and under:

Age 7 and under: 5 children: 1 adult

Age 8 – 17: 10 children: 1 adult

The entry charge applies to all adults and children.

Leaders of groups of children (under 18s) will be required to sign a behavioural agreement upon arrival and are responsible for monitoring the conduct of their party during the visit.

Your Visit

Please arrive at our Visitor Centre in good time for your visit. The Visitor Centre can be found in Christ Church Meadow. Enter the Meadow via the Memorial Garden Gate, off St Aldates.

At the time of booking you will have been allocated a check in time. Group leaders should go to the Groups desk in the Visitor Centre at this agreed time. Members of the group are asked to wait outside while the group leader is checking in. Final numbers will be agreed, an entry time allocated and payment taken. Payment may be made by cash, credit or debit card (except American Express).
