The Parishioner Pass

You'll be aware that the Foundation of Christ Church, College and Cathedral, attracts many thousands of visitors each year and it is important not to disturb its normal working life. For the general public a visitor entrance charge is made and a team of custodial staff help control the flow of visitors.

That said, members of the Church of England in the Diocese of Oxford are welcome to come to their Cathedral to pray whenever they wish. Parishioners from across the Diocese may apply for a free Parishioner Pass by completing application the form and sending it, together with an SAE, to the Cathedral Visitor Officer, Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford.

The pass allows you entry through the Tom Gate entrance where you will be shown across to the Cathedral by the Custodians. It allows you to enter the Cathedral to pray and to look around. It does not give you entry to the College (including the Hall), though you are welcome to visit these parts of Christ Church by purchasing a ticket online.

We are delighted to welcome visitors back onto our main site from 5 July. All tickets will need to be booked online in advance

While we carefully manage the number of people on site, Parishioner Pass holders are asked to contact Miranda Hockliffe, Volunteer & Visitor Coordinator, if they wish to come to the Cathedral during visitor opening times.

Of course, everyone is welcome to come to the Cathedral for worship and details of our Cathedral Services can be found by clicking here.
