Heritage & Awareness

The Library is committed to developing our collections so they reflect a diverse academic community and a breadth of scholarship, including previously under-represented areas.

To that end, we’re starting a monthly display in the entrance hall to spotlight books and resources related to heritage & awareness, linking in with events, days, and months dedicated to these topics.

Additionally, we’ll be looking for student volunteers to work with us to purchase material for these displays, and to contribute to a monthly blog post, accompanying the highlighted topic – if you think you would be interested in writing or curating displays for any of these months, please send us an email at library@chch.ox.ac.uk.

The months for which we will be curating displays this academic year are (this will be added to):

  • October 2022 – Black History Month
  • November 2022 – Disability History Month
  • January 2023 – Holocaust Memorial Day (27th)
  • February 2023 – LGBT History Month
  • March 2023 - World Book Day (3rd)
  • April 2023 - Stress Awareness Month
  • May 2023 - Mental Health Awareness Week (9-15th)

The first blog post, for Disability History Month, was written by James Cullis, and is available here.
