Coronavirus - Latest Updates

The College’s first priority remains protecting the health and safety of all members of the Christ Church community, and at this stage of the pandemic that means reducing wherever possible the number of visitors on site during term time. For this reason the main Christ Church site will remain closed to visitors until the end of the academic year.

We are looking forward to welcoming visitors back to Christ Church from Monday 5 July 2021. In line with government guidance COVID-secure measures will be in place to keep everyone safe. Details about what you can expect from your visit and how to book will be published here during the week of 21 June 2021.

Christ Church is located on St Aldates, an easy walk of no more than a few minutes from Oxford city centre.

  • Visitors wishing to look around the college and cathedral must book tickets online in advance. They should then go to the Visitor Centre in the Meadow to redeem their tickets.
  • People looking for the Café or Shop should also go to the Visitor Centre in the Meadow.
  • Those wishing to visit the Picture Gallery should use Canterbury Gate (at the junction of Oriel Square and Merton Street). Please note the Picture Gallery remains fully closed to visitors at the moment.
  • Worshipers attending services at the Cathedral should use Tom Gate.
  • Prospective students should contact the Access & Admissions Office.
  • Attendees at Conferences and Summer Schools should refer to registration information as per their organiser.
  • All B&B guests should go to the Porters Lodge at Tom Gate for check in.
