Useful Information
The Blue Book
Christ Church's Information and Regulations for Junior Members - otherwise known as The Blue Book, can be found on this page. This is a very important source of information for our Junior Members - many questions relating to college life, both academic and non-academic aspects, are answered here, so please take the time to read through it. It includes information on the structure of the College, academic provision, disciplinary procedures, college facilities, including meals and accommodation, and welfare arrangements.
The University Student Handbook
In addition to the Blue Book, you may also need to refer to the University Student Handbook.
The Student Contract
A copy of the College-Student Contract that incoming students sign and return can be found here: College-Student Contract.
Event Booking and Room Capacities
To book a room in College, please complete an Event Booking Application. You may wish to refer to the list of rooms before submitting your application, as a guide for suitable options (e.g. capacities), however please note that not all rooms are available for student use. For general room booking protocols: see the Blue Book. For any queries about the use of rooms, please contact the Censors’ Administrator, Jackie Webber, at censors.office@chch.ox.ac.uk.
Academic Office FAQs
What should I do if my University/Bod Card has been lost, damaged or stolen?
Email academic.office@chch.ox.ac.uk and we will contact the University Card Office, who will replace your lost, damaged or stolen card.
There is a £15 replacement fee for lost cards, payable at the University's online store. We will email you when your replacement card is ready for collection from the Academic Office. Please note that once you have reported your card as missing, for security reasons a stop will be put on that card, meaning that if you then find it at a later date it will no longer be valid and the replacement card will still need to be paid for.
There is no fee for replacing a stolen card where a crime number from the Police is reported.
Damaged cards are replaced free of charge with the exception of Retirees cards where a £15 fee must be paid (the card expiry date will however be extended for the maximum of four years duration).
How do I get an enrolment certificate?
Once your University registration is complete an enrolment certificate will be available to download from Student Self Service (under the 'My Student Record' section) confirming your enrolled status at the University of Oxford for the current academic year. This certificate may be used for council tax exemption, opening a bank account, for third party verification such as potential employers, and to confirm your student status for other purposes e.g. to show a financial sponsor or a landlord when renting private property.
Please note, if you are continuing your studies with the University from one academic year to the next, there will be a short period during August when you will not be able to access the enrolment certificate. When you have completed your University registration for the new academic year, following the opening of University registration on 1 September, the enrolment certificate will be available to you again. If you urgently need proof of your student status during this August period, email academic.office@chch.ox.ac.uk.
