Ophelia Field, writer of the historical biography of Sarah Churchill ‘The Favourite’, now a major film, recounts her experiences of Christ Church in the 1990s. Studying English under her inspiration Peter Conrad, Ophelia achieved a First in Prelims and Finals, then went on to gain a masters from LSE in Human Rights Law and Development. In her career, she has followed a lifelong interest in refugee issues, working with organisations such as the UN, English PEN and Human Rights Watch, as well as keeping her love of literature alive. In this short video, Ophelia talks about her time at the House and how it influenced what she calls her schizophrenic career.
