Christ Church seeks applicants of the highest academic potential and merit, irrespective of background and personal circumstances, and aims to provide a high-quality environment for academic study. Financial support for graduate students is a priority for Christ Church, and the College offers a range of scholarships each year for new graduate students. In recent years, for example, we have partnered with the Law Faculty to offer a BAME Scholarship to a DPhil student in Law, and with the University to offer two Black Academic Futures Scholarships, and thanks to the generosity of the Pitts-Tucker family have offered a fully-funded Pitts-Tucker Scholarship for a DPhil student in Medicine. Scholarships available for students starting in the 2023/24 academic year are listed below.
There is no separate College application procedure for any of the scholarships listed, but some scholarships require candidates to select Christ Church as their preferred colleges. Where applicable, this is set out below.
- Applications should be made by the January deadline for your chosen course.
- All applicants should apply to the University under the standard procedures for graduate degrees.
- Applicants who apply by the January deadline for their chosen course will automatically be considered for Clarendon awards.
